How would you describe yourself?: I'm an active, fit man who regularly enjoys working out, traveling, and being outdoors to enjoy a variety of activities (gardening, hiking, camping, fishing, handyman projects. . . ). Over the past few years, though, I have been slowly recovering from a torn meniscus and this has limited my activities to some extent in the activities that I love to do (especially long-distance running), but I'm getting better so I'm very excited about that. I love to get out with friends and family for fun from time to time, including ocassionally dancing with some of the most popular local bands in my city, watching major college and professional championship games (very popular here in America), and traveling. All four of my children are grown adults (and I have six grandchildren with a seventh on the way). I also enjoy helping with a ministry at my church called Divorce Care that helps people to recover and heal from traumatic events in their lives like divorce. Most importantly, I have the time, desire, and ability to be fully committed in a serious relationship moving toward marriage. Currently, I enjoy my job as a finance professor at a nearby university in the college of business. Although I was married for almost 29 years, we divorced in 2010 and then moved toward reconciliation a year later in 2011 before my wife passed away from cancer. I am a Christian and hope to find a woman who desires to grow together as a Christian couple.
How would you describe your ideal partner?: I seek an attractive, sweet, easy-going, flexible woman who longs for a fun, close, intimate relationship characterized by respect, passion, honesty, deep connection, and open communication. I do not list these characteristics lightheartedly; rather, I believe these to be essential to a successful relationship and marriage. Further, when differences arise, I would hope that her instinct is not to withdraw but, rather, to see the importance of remaining engaged in conversation to work through the differences together in thoughtful consideration of and response to the views of the other. What is the best advice that you give to your children?: Seek and know God as He truly is, not as you want Him to be. God works when you give Him something to work with.
What has produced the biggest impression (shock) on you?: There is very little, if anything, that can shock me about humanity anymore. However, I am somewhat shocked about how things can change so quickly in an unexpected manner and by how much my culture has changed over my lifetime.

Where do you want to live?: I live in a nice home in a nice neighborhood and I have a great job that I am very happy with. Family is nearby, so right now I am where I want to live. However, I used to live down in the southern part of the United States for 15 years. I love the sunshine and warm weather and the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico and would love to move back down there one day.
